Sparta Historical Society and its Sparta Community Gardens features Jeannie Geremia, VP NJ Garden Clubs, and Nestors Greenhouse.  Ms Geremia's presentation, beginning at 7pm, will focus on the how, why and best ways to naturally encourage a productive garden.  Preceding her talk, at 6pm, Nestors Greenhouse will have a plant sale on regular and pollinator (bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds) plants.  All home gardeners and want-to-be home gardeners are invited to attend!   members free, non-members $5

SPARTA, NJ – A Sparta man was stopped for speeding on Woodport Road ended up with a trip to the Sparta Police Department Headquarters on driving while intoxicated charges according to police.

SPARTA, NJ – No injuries were reported following an accident in the parking lot of the Liquor Factory.  On September 14 around 9 a.m. Sparta Police Officer Brian Porter went to the scene to find Sparta resident Margaret Laureys, 53, struck a GMC Envoy with her black Toyota Corolla, according to police.
