Sparta Historical Society's exhibit at Van Kirk Homestead Museum, sponsored by Perona Farms, reflects the work of a community photographer who chronicled a quarter century of Sparta as well as photos of commercial, news, sports and celebrities.  Engelbrecht's photographs have appeared nationally in Life magazine, National Geographic, The Golfer, NY Times in addition to state publications and residential magazines like The Papoose and Lake Hopatcong Breeze.   During the last decade of his life, he was the personal photographer of John D Rockefeller.     2pm talk

SPARTA, NJ – A Morris Plains man caught the attention of Officer Brian Porter as he flew up Route 15 at 98 MPH.  On August 17 around 3 a.m. Porter stopped Evan Rokoszak, 31, for speeding in a black Volkswagon Jetta, police said.
