Life Along the Wallkil River

Sparta Historical Society's spring exhibit at the Van Kirk Homestead Museum is the story of Sparta and its relationship to the Wallkill River.  This exhibit illustrates the continuum of this relationship from the eighteenth into the twentieth century through artifacts, photographs, animal mounts pertaining to the natural environment, native inhabitants, and settlers, including the businesses , railroads, and industries that served the growing community.  2PM talk

SPARTA, NJ — Sparta police picked up a number of people on active warrants. On October 7 around 1:30 p.m. Officer Timothy Lynott stopped Daniel Aldea of Garfield because his silver Nissan Altima had an expired inspection sticker, police report.
