UPDATE: Police Said Route 15 is Reopened Sparta Police: Route 15 Detour Due to Downed Utility Pole

SPARTA, NJ – Route 15 traffic is being detoured onto Layton Lane, according to Sparta Police Department.  Both northbound and southbound lanes are affected because of a utility pole down across the road.  It was pulled down by a truck near to the Bagel Station just beyond the railroad tracks.

Sparta Police: Traffic Stop Yields Pot Arrest

SPARTA, NJ- A Warton woman is facing drug charges after a traffic stop.  On September 1 around 6:50 a.m. Officer Jonathan Poon stopped Martha Rubio, 21 in a red Volkswagen, for not moving to the right lane, police said.

Poon smelled marijuana in Rubino’s car.  The officer searched the car and found a bag of pot.  Rubino admitted it was hers, police said.

Sparta Police: Dump Truck Driver Over Weight and Under Arrest

SPARTA, NJ – A truck driver from Dover is facing a number of charges after being stopped on West Mountain Road.  On September 4 around 2:30 p.m. Cpl. Craig Grauerholz stopped Felipe Holguin, 37 in a Mack dump truck, police said.
