Sparta Police: Speeding Nets Wanted Man

SPARTA, NJ – A Lake Hopatcong man was picked up on an open warrant after being stopped for speeding on Route 15 north.  On March 7 around 3 p.m. Officer Michael Poon pulled over Johar Knight, 27, for driving 73 MPH in a 55 MPH, police said.

SPARTA, NJ  - A Verona man, stopped for weaving on Route 15 south faces drug charges.  On March 8 around 11:20 a.m. Officer Jonathan Poon stopped Joseph Denicola III, 28 driving a grey Chrysler 200, police said.

Suicide Survivor Support Group Starting Up at Sparta United Methodist Church

March 18, 2019

SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta United Methodist Church is offering a Suicide Survivor Support Group for family and friends of suicide loss. 

It begins April 2 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will meet every first and third Tuesday of the month.  They will meet in the church’s library conference room.  No registration is required and people are invited to come as needed.
