Sparta Police: Erratic Driver Arrested on Heroin Charges

SPARTA, NJ – After hitting a guard rail a couple of times and veering into the grass median on Route 15 near White Lake, someone called the police to report the erratic driver.  On November 14 Cpl. Richard Smith stopped Michael Covell in a white Ford pickup, as the caller reported, police said.

Sparta Police: Suspended, Unbelted Driver Faces Drug Charges

SPARTA, NJ -A Sussex woman is facing drug charges after police stopped her for not wearing her seatbelt.  On November 11, around 8:30 a.m. Cpl. Marc Rubino saw Jessica Craig driving her gold Honda on Route 15, police report.

When the officer spoke to the 32-year-old driver he smelled marijuana in the car.  Craig denied having any pot in her car, police report.

Sparta Police: DWI After Crashing into a Tree

SPARTA, NJ – A Lafayette man is facing drunk driving charges after crashing into a tree off of Route 94. On October 27 around 2 a.m. Sparta Cpl. Scot Elig found Zachary Watts, 21 trying to start the black Ford Escort, police report.

The Escort was 20 feet into the woods, head on into a tree and was so heavily damaged, it could not be started, according to police.
