SPARTA, NJ – Sparta Police Department will have a new chief as of June 2.  Neil Spidaletto will be promoted to the position in a ceremony open to the community in the Sparta High School auditorium, Spidaletto’s alma mater. SPARTA, NJ – A Wantage man is facing drug charges after getting pulled over for a broken tail light on Stanhope Road.  Sparta Police Officer Tom Herd saw Nicholas Veith driving a 2012 Honda on May 14 around 12:20 a.m. with a cracked tail light, a burned-out license plate light and window tinting that was too dark according to police.
