Sparta Police: DWI After Crashing into a Tree

November 10, 2018

SPARTA, NJ – A Lafayette man is facing drunk driving charges after crashing into a tree off of Route 94. On October 27 around 2 a.m. Sparta Cpl. Scot Elig found Zachary Watts, 21 trying to start the black Ford Escort, police report.

The Escort was 20 feet into the woods, head on into a tree and was so heavily damaged, it could not be started, according to police.

SPARTA, NJ – A Newton woman is facing driving while intoxicated charges after getting stopped for weaving in her lane on Sparta Avenue.  Police Officer Erick Finley stopped Dina Romeo, 51 in a silver Nissan Rogue on October 28 around 1:30 a.m. police report.
