SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta Marching Spartans honored their seniors at the football game on Friday night.  The band shortened their program “The Show Must Go On” during halftime for the ceremony. 

Seniors were escorted onto the field by their families as a short bio was read for the fans.

Sean Ailara – Woodwind Captain, Alto Sax with his parents Kristina and Edmund and sister Cassie.  Ailara has played in the band for four years.  He plans to attend college for mechanical or aerospace engineering.

Daniela Cassano – Clarinet with her parents Francesca and Vito. Cassano has played with the band for three years.  She plans to attend college for psychology and become a child psychologist.

Kae DeGiovanni – Percussion Captain, Snare Drum with her parents Anmarie and John and sister Paige.  DeGiovanni has played in the band for your years and plans to study environmental science and engineering.

Kayleigh Forenback – Drumline with her parents Denece and Mark.  Forenback has played with the band for four years and plans to attend college to major in music and practice in music therapy.

Kayla Kappmeier – Pit Percussion with her mom Mara and sisters Bailey and Avery.  Kappmeier has played in the band for three years and plans to study psychology.

Aaron Lopez – Snare drum with parents Joanne and Frank.  Lopez has played with the band for four years and plans to pursue a degree in computer science and then medical school.

Deanna Masucci – Color Guard Co-Captain with her parents Melissa and Tony and sister Amanda.  Masucci has performed with the band for four years.

Brianna Murphy – Color Guard with her mom Trina and uncle Dr. Curtis Branch.  Murphy has performed with the band for five years and plans to attend college to become a nurse.

Zander Papandrikos – Brass Captain, Tuba with parents Robyn and Konstantinos and sister Carys and grandma Lynne.  Papandrikos has played with the band for three years and plans to study music.

Alex Ramos- Mellophone with parents Kathleen and Paul.  Ramos has played with the band for four years and plans to study microbiology. 

Lorenzo Rendina – Trumpet with his dad Pablo.  Rendina has played with the band for four years and plans to study jazz and become a successful performer.

Tom Scheri – Trumpet with his parents John and Theresa, brother Chris and sister Laura.  Scheri has played with the band for three years and plans to study mechanical and aerospace engineering in college. 

Jed Sutton – Pit Captain with parents Stephanie and Martyn.  Sutton has performed with the band for four years and plans to get a PhD in history.

Olivia Tomlin – Colorguard with her parents Scott, Lori and sister Skylar.  She has performed with the band for five years and plans to attend college and study technical theater.

Kaitlyn Verney – Pit Percussion with her parents Sharon and John.  She has performed with the band for one year and plans to get a bachelor’s degree in science or education.

Emily Yarnall – Drum Major and Mellophone with her parents Kim and Gary, sister Sarah and brother Justin. She has performed with the band for two years and plans to attend college to get a five year bachelor’s degree in architecture and hopes to travel and visit Europe.

"The staff would like to thank all the seniors and their families for jobs well done," Band Associate Director Deborah Gianuzzi said. "They’ve made us all proud!"
