SPARTA, NJ – Sparta will host Independence Day celebrations.
On Wednesday, July 3 Lake Mohawk Country Club will host the fireworks display. Traffic will be detoured around White Deer Plaza beginning around 8:30 p.m. to accomedate pedestrian Traffic.
The annual Fourth of July parade, sponsored by the Sparta Elks Lodge #2356 will step off at 11 a.m. The parade lineup will begin at East Shore Trail and Twin Elm. The parade will process through White Deer Plaza and up Mohawk Avenue ending near the Sparta Library. The Elks will be offering free hotdogs after the parade. Trophies will be awarded in several categories, judged by the Elks members.
Traffic will be detoured around the parade route beginning around 10 a.m.
The Lake Mohawk Ski Hawks will put on a show immediately following the parade. Best viewing will be on the boardwalk near to Beach 1.
The Summer Concert Series will begin on July 5 at Dykstra Park behind Mohawk Avenue School. Murail Coryell will play beginning at 7 p.m. Rain location is Mohawk Avenue School.
