With the state having ordered take out only for all restaurants, the Mohawk House is taking it a step further.  A mobile butcher shop has been set up on site at the Mohawk House.  Steve Scro is offering meat from Pat LaFrieda; top quality fresh chicken beef and sweet and hot sausages at “a special price.”

“It’s nice to see people, to talk and share stories with them and great to help the community,” Scro said.  “We’re doing what we can here.”

The butcher shop menu includes:

  • Prime USDA Certified 16 oz. Ribeye steaks,
  • Original Pat LaFrieda Chopped Beef
  • Sweet Italian Sausage Links 1 lb packs
  • Hot Italian Pork Sausage Links 1 lb packs
  • Allen A Grade Chicken Cutlets

Most of the regular menu items are available and they are “working on soups and sauces as well as creating some unique comfort food” Scro said.  They will also be filling Growlers for customers.

Having sold out on Friday morning, they were up and running again by the afternoon.  Scro anticipate offering the products through Sunday, with another order due on Monday.

Scro said people are calling to order and picking up in the parking lot.

“It’s a responsibility to support the community,” Scro said. “To give people another opportunity to pick up good food without having to stand in line at the grocery store.”
