SPARTA, NJ- The Sussex County Board of Health has announced two additional cases of coronavirus is Sparta and one in Hopatcong. 

From Saturday to Sunday the New Jersey Department of Health has received 590 additional positive coronavirus test results, bringing the total to 1949.  This represents an increase of 45%.

New Jersey is second only to New York in the number of positive COVID-19 test results.  New York has a reported 15,777 according to Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center  This number represents approximately 5% of the cases in the world.

Four additional deaths bring the state total to 20.  The deaths have been reported as:

  • Bergen County man in his 90s with underlying health issues
  • Passaic County man in his 80s with underlying health issues
  • Middlesex County woman in her 90s
  • Somerset County woman in her 70s

As of Sunday, all 21 counties in New Jersey are affected:

  • Bergen County 457 positive test results
  • Essex County 172 positive test results
  • Monmouth County 158 positive test results
  • Middlesex County 147 positive test results
  • Hudson County 126 positive test results
  • Union County 124 positive test results
  • Morris County 118 positive test results
  • Ocean County 102 positive test results
  • Passaic County 95 positive test results
  • Somerset County 51 positive test results
  • Mercer County 40 positive test results
  • Burlington County 26 positive test results
  • Camden County 22 positive test results
  • Hunterdon County 16 positive test results
  • Sussex County 12 positive test results
  • Warren County 9 positive test results
  • Gloucester County 8 positive test results
  • Atlantic County 5 positive test results
  • Cape May County 2 positive test results
  • Cumberland County 1 positive test result
  • Salem County 1 positive test result

The United States, as of Sunday, has 33,276 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 416 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.

According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, worldwide there have been 335,991 confirmed cases, 98,330 people have recovered and 14,641 deaths.
