SPARTA, NJ – Helen Morgan Elementary School swept the Junior Woman’s Club 25 annual Fifth Grade Spelling Bee.  Victoria Tynes took first place, Noel Lovett was first runner-up and Leisl Hessel was second runner-up.

The final round came down to business and caricature.  The word CARICATURE was spelled incorrectly by Lovett and then correctly by Tynes.  Tynes then correctly spelled BUSINESS.

"I give all of the participants a lot of credit for demonstrating poise and confidence in this arena," Helen Morgan Principal Doug Layman said.  "We are very excited for our finalists as they progress to the next round.  Thank you the Junior Woman's Club of Sparta for organizing and running this A-W-E-S-O-M-E community event."
