SPARTA, NJ – The board of education approved new legal counsel at a special meeting on Monday night.  The agenda had only two items; approve the new law firm and accept the resignation of the former.

Marc Zitomer and Alison Kenny of Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP were at the meeting to meet the board members.  The board approved the new firm 7-0, Kylen Anderson and Jay Ventresca were not at the meeting.

“The Sparta Board of Education is looking forward to working with Mr. Marc Zitomer and the education law group from Schenck, Price, Smith & King,” board president Kim Bragg said.  “This well established, full service law firm will be able to provide coverage in all legal areas that our district will need.”

According to Assistant Superintendent Patrick McQueeney the district will "have access to all attorneys in the firm should any other issue, outside of educational law, come up."
