SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta Board of Education will meet on Monday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m. 

The agenda shows Board of Education Goals will be discussed, led by New Jersey School Boards Association field service representative Kathy Helewa.

There will also be a presentation by the new food service provider Maschio’s.  A group will also be presenting the Spanish trip Sparta High School students made this summer.

According to the agenda, Director of Special Services Danielle Hamblin is resigning as of November 15, 2019. No replacement is listed on the agenda.

After 14 years of service Myriam Dobles is retiring from her position as 12 month secretary at Sparta High School, as of January 1, 2020.  The Head Secretary of Helen Morgan School, Alison Werkmeister is also resigning, though the date is to be determined.

Vincent Franek is retiring from his job as custodian at Alpine Elementary School as of January 1, 2020.  He has served the district for 38 years.

The early renewal of the superintendent’s contract is not on this agenda but the board members will be meeting in closed session to discuss Personnel, according to the agenda.  According to public notice, the early renewal of the superintendent’s contract is scheduled to be on the October 28, 2020 agenda for a board vote.   

The meeting is schedueld to begin at 7:30 in the auditorium of Mohawk Avenue School.
