“The public portion will begin no earlier than 7:30 p.m. and may start closer to 8 p.m., depending on how long executive session takes,” the meeting notice said.

The board can only vote on the candidate in public session. They may deliberate in public prior to the vote.

As Scott was one year into a three-year term, the seat will be on the November ballot as a two-year term.  The person appointed by the board on Monday will only serve until the reorganization meeting in January 2021.

The second agenda item is Hinman’s resignation as Business Administrator and Board Secretary, effective June 30, 2020.  Hinman came on in May 2017. Prior to Hinman, interim Business Administrator Tony Mistretta had been in place since the Barbara Decker resigned in January 2017.

The meeting will be held remotely due to the governor’s continuing executive orders. The public can join the meeting by phone or computer.
