The Results of Newton's Special Election are...

NEWTON, NJ — Newton residents will now vote for town council members on the November ballot. After a long battle and much controversy, the petitioners’ request to let the voters have a say on the issue has been granted and the yesses have it. 

The unofficial results of the special election that took place on Tuesday, July 3, according to the Municipal Clerk Lorraine Read.

Six Vie for Three Seats on Sparta Board of Education

SPARTA, NJ — It will be a crowded ballot for the Sparta Board of Education election in November. This year six candidates have submitted petitions to run for three seats, each for a three-year term. 

Two candidates took advantage of the new option to file petitions jointly allowing them to appear bracketed on the ballot.

Kathryn Matteson and Jennifer Grana filed jointly.
