SPARTA, NJ -The old street signs are now for sale. The township council passed a resolution on Tuesday night authorizing the sale of the decommissioned street signs for “not less than $10.”
Anyone interested in purchasing the surplus signs can contact the Sparta Township Department of Public Works. According to township clerk Kathleen Chambers, it will be “first come first serve.”
In June Sparta Township Manager announced the new signs had been installed. A total of 408 signs cost the municipality $12,000, Close said. They are now blue with a Spartan head logo and “Founded 1845.”
