SPARTA, NJ – July heat and little rain have lead Sparta Township officials to call for water restrictions.  The restrictions limit the hours and days during which Sparta residents can water lawns, garden or other vegetation.

Sparta is limiting watering based on an odd even system based on residents’ home, building or box number; even number residences can water on even days, odd number residences can water on odd number days.

The township officials said no outdoor water use is permitted on any 31 day of the month.
