Can’t get enough Girl Scout Cookies? Then head to the third annual Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey Great Cookie Cook-off next month in Scotch Plains, where New Jersey chefs will compete to see who can best incorporate the perennial treats into dishes both sweet and savory.

The fundraiser will be held at Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains on Thursday, March 12. Jackie Lieberman, publisher of NJ Flavor, will be one of the judges.

“Past winners, like Do-si-do Wings and Chocolate Cherry Bombe made with Samoas, sound so amazing,” Lieberman said. “I can’t wait to taste what everyone comes up with this time.”

Competing chefs will include Kiersten Gormeley of Shaka Bowl with two locations in Hoboken; Lauren Petrovski of the Tropicana in Atlantic City; Brian Walter, executive chef at Shackamaxon Country Club; Vonda McPherson, owner of Vonda’s Kitchen in Newark; chef Jose Gonzalez of The Coffee Box in Plainfield; Asia Bullock of Asia B’s Sweet Treats in Montclair; Jennifer Bridgeman, owner of Simply Delightful Treats in Manasquan; and Caitlyn Glynn, a GSHNJ staff member and owner of Creations by Caitlin in Westfield.

The tasty event will feature a silent auction, a tricky tray raffle, a wine pull, passed hors d'oeuvres, gourmet food stations, a cash bar and all the Girl Scout cookie creations attendees can handle. Tickets are $75 per person or $130 for two.

Funds raised from the cook-off will help benefit Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey programming including STEM and robotics, council-based initiatives such as Juliette's House, breaking down barriers to inclusivity (including language and financial), enhanced programming for girls and unique outdoor experiences.
