NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Police Department continues to investigate the death of 19-year-old Lindsey Wright, who passed away Friday night, according to Newton Police Chief Michael Richards on Thursday.
Wright fell approximately 30 feet from a window on Spring Street. Officers responded around 10:40 p.m. to 144 Spring Street, the old Waldmere hotel, in response to a call of a woman falling from a window.
She was transported by emergency responders to Newton Medical Center where she died later that night as a result of the injuries.
According to Richards, “The case remains active and no final determination has been made [as to what caused the fall]. There is no [autopsy] report yet from the medical examiner. This could take several weeks and we'll provide an update once complete.”
Wright is a former student at the County College of Morris, where she was enrolled in 2018 and a graduate from Lenape Valley Regional High School’s Class of 2017.
Services will be held on Saturday at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Roxbury, with visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. and a prayer service beginning at 5:30 p.m.
