MORRISTOWN, NJ – A Sparta man was picked up in a joint investigation spanning three counties on drug and weapons charges, according to a statement from the Morristown prosecutor Fredric Knapp and Morris County Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker and Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Chief Andrew Miller. Samuel Rozynski, 44 was arrested on January 29.
The three agencies, acting on search warrants in Sparta, Cliffside Park and Parsipipany seized 350 grams of cocaine, 37 pounds of marijuana, a number of weapons and more than $300,000, suspected to be proceeds from drug distribution.
Rozynski was charged with:
- Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute,
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute,
- Conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances,
- Money laundering,
- Possession of a weapon during commission of a controlled dangerous substance offenses,
- Possession of cocaine and marijuana within 1000 feet of a school,
- Possession of cocaine,
- Possession of marijuana,
- Possession of prohibited weapons and devices – (large capacity ammunition magazine)
According to the Knapp, Rozynski is in custody at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending his detention hearing.
A second person was also arrested on January 29 as part of the same investigation. Alona Goulbourne, 37 of Cliffside Park was charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances and money laundering.
Knapp said “The cooperation and coordination of investigative efforts by all involved agencies culminated in this very significant seizure of drugs and firearms. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to reduce the supply of illicit drugs.”
