SPARTA, NJ – A Landing woman was picked up for drunk driving in Sparta after being involved in a domestic dispute in Ogdensburg.  On December 16 around midnight Officer Arlene Lippencott stopped Wendy Mittelstadt, 35 at the Sparta Junction, police said.

Sparta police were on the look out for the silver Hyundai Elantra after the incident in Ogdensburg.  When Lippencott spoke with the driver, the officer suspected MIttelstadt had been drinking, police said.

Lippencott had Mittelstadt perform field sobriety tests and then took her into custody.  She was brought to the Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing, police said.

After being breath tested, she was charged with DWI and careless driving.  She was given a court date and released to a sober adult.
