SPARTA, NJ – A traffic stop ended with drug charges for a Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania woman.  On March 8 around 11:50 p.m. Cpl. Richard Smith stopped Brieanne King, 28 driving a white Suzuki driving on Route 15 with a broken headlight, police said.

When Smith talked with King he smelled marijuana in the car.  When King was getting her documents, Smith saw pot in her center console, police said.

King was taken into custody and was brought to Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing.  She was charged with possession of marijuana, driving while suspended, maintenance of lamps, open container in a motor vehicle and controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. 

King was given a court date and released.
