SPARTA, NJ – A Sparta woman is facing drunk driving charges after a traffic stop on Woodport Road. On September 2 around 11:30 p.m. Officer Steven Guido stopped Sharon Swanwick, 35 because her blue Hyundai had a broken headlight, police said.
Guido suspected Swanwick had been drinking and had her get out of the car to perform field sobriety tests, police said.
Swanwick was then taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing. After being breath tested, Swanwick was charged with DWI, maintenance of lamps, failure to inspect, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and careless driving. She was given a court date and released to a sober adult.
