SPARTA, NJ – A Hamburg woman was charged with disorderly conduct after a confrontation with a Sparta Police Officer.  On February 1 around 7:30 p.m. Officer Matthew Pletcher was checking the grounds of Sussex Technical School when he saw Laura Presiosi, 30 sitting in her idling car, police report.

Presiosi was on her phone and refused to hand up, becoming verbally abusive toward the officer, police said.

She would not get out of her car and when Pletcher asked what her name was she would only give her first name, telling him he could run her license plates to find out her name, police said.

Pletcher took her into custody and brought her to Sparta Police Department headquarters.  She was charged with failure to obey a lawful order and parking in a handicapped space.  She was released with a court date.
