SPARTA, NJ – A traffic stop on Route 15 ended with drug charges for the driver, a Jersey City resident.  On May 19 around 3 p.m. Officer Thomas Herd stopped Brandon Khusial, 20 for failing to keep right, police said.

When Herd spoke with Khusial the officer smelled marijuana in the car.  Khusial admitted there was a small amount of pot in the car.  Herd found marijuana and rolling papers when he searched the car, police said.

Khusial was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing.  He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, view obstruction, failing to keep right on a highway and controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.

He was released with a court date.
