SPARTA, NJ – A Newton woman, found in the back seat of a car parked behind a closed business is facing drug charges. On November 19 around 10:40 a.m. Officer Steven Guido checked on a black Chevy Camaro with New York plates, police said.
Guido found Jamie Odea, 30 with blood on her arm. The officer asked if she was okay, causing Odea to roll her sleeve down, police said.
When Odea got out of the car, Guido saw an empty wax fold, typically used to store heroin, on the back seat. A search of the car yielded crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic needles and additional wax folds, police said.
Odea was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing. She was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of hypodermic needles and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was given a court date and released.
