SPARTA, NJ – No one was injured but charges were filed in a fender bender at 3 a.m. at the intersection of Lafayette Road and Route 15.  On November 9 police went to the scene of the accident where a gray Hyundai was struck from behind by a red Honda minivan, police said.

Officer Chris Favaro spoke with both drivers and found that the driver of the minivan, Lafayette resident Kevin Farber, 27, had been drinking before the accident, police said.

The driver of the Hyundai was released from the scene. Faber was asked to perform field sobriety tests.  He was then taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing, police said.

After processing and breath testing Faber was charged with DWI, careless driving and failure to observe a traffic signal.  He was given a court date and released to a sober adult.
