SPARTA, NJ – A Lake Hopatcong man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop on Route 15.  On November 11 around noon, Officer Steven Guido stopped James Rosenski, Jr, 20 because passengers in the front and back seat were not wearing seatbelts, police said.

When Guido spoke with Rosenski the officer smelled marijuana in the car.  Rosenski said he has smoked earlier and still had a small amount of pot in his car, police said.

Rosenski gave Guido a plastic container containing marijuana.  Rosenski was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing.  He was charged with possession of marijuana and a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
