SPARTA, NJ-A Jersey City man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop.  On October 28 around 11 a.m. Officer Matt Pletcher stopped Nicholas Furey-Caban, 24, is a silver Subaru on Lafayette Road, according to police.

When speaking with the driver, the officer smelled marijuana in the car.  Furey-Caban admitted he had smoked pot in his car, police said.

A search of the car yielded marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Furey-Caban was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing.  He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and unsafe driving.  He was given a court date and released.
