SPARTA, NJ – A Sparta man found in the Glen after the park was closed is facing drug charges. On April 15 around 10 p.m. Sgt. Frank Schomp was checking the Sparta Glen and found Elias Oliver, 22 parked a silver Nissan Rogue, police report.
The park was closed. When the officer spoke with the driver, Schomp saw a baggie of pot on the front passenger seat. After calling for backup, the rest of the car was searched, police report.
The search yielded a small plastic container of marijuana, and a marijuana pipe. Oliver was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing, police said.
Oliver was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. He was given a court date and released.
