SPARTA, NJ – A Branchville man is facing drunk driving charges after a speeding stop on Limecrest Road. On August 4 around midnight, Sgt. Frank Schomp stopped Adam Warburton-Pitt, 29 for driving 85 MPH in a 55 MPH zone, police said.
Officer Timothy Lynott took over the investigation as Warburton-Pitt was suspected of being intoxicated. Lynott administered field sobriety tests and took Warburton-Pitt into custody, police said.
Warburton-Pitt was transported to Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing and breath testing. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, unclear plates, speeding and failure to inspect, police said.
He was given a court date and released to a sober adult.
