SPARTA, NJ – A New York man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop.  On May 27 Officer Steve Guido stopped Kevin Unrein, 25 of Nesconest, New York for not signaling a turn and because the trailer he was pulling did not have lights, police said.

A further investigation led to Unrein’s arrest for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and several motor vehicle violations.  He was released with a court date.

Sparta police learned that Unrein was a suspect in a boat theft from Andover Township earlier that day.  Guido and the Sparta Detective Bureau were able to recover the stolen boat. No additional charges were released by the police.
