SPARTA, NJ – A Pine Brook man is charged with drunk driving after other drivers called police. On March 17, police got reports of a white Cadillac not staying in its lane on Glen Road around 10:10 p.m. police said.
Officer Thomas Herd pulled over Richard Cilento, 69 as he was heading towards Route 15. When speaking with Cilento, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath. Cilento told Herd he had three or four glasses of wine, police report.
With Officer Philip Longo assisting, Herd gave Cilento field sobriety tests. Cilento was then taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing, police said.
After being breath tested, Cilento was charged with DWI, failure to keep right, failure to signal turn and careless driving. He was given a court date and released to a sober adult.
