SPARTA, NJ – A Harrison woman stopped for traffic infractions got herself into additional trouble when she gave a false name and birthdate to the officer.  On March 9 around 10:30 a.m. Officer Michael Poon stopped a black Honda Civic on Route 15, police said.

The driver was stopped for having a cracked windshield, expired inspection sticker and because none of the four people in the car were wearing seatbelts.  When Poon spoke with the one of the passengers she initially gave incorrect information because, it turned out, she had an outstanding warrant, police said.

Ashley Erdman, 21 was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department Headquarters where she was processed.  She was charged with hindering and failure to wear a seatbelt.  Kearney was contacted and they gave a new court date on their warrant, police said.
