SPARTA, NJ – Alpine Elementary School students had some special visitors for Superhero Day on Friday.  Sparta Police Officers together with Iron Man, The Hulk and Black Panther visited the classrooms to the delight of the students.

Det. Sgt. Jeff McCarrick contacted Leone when he heard about Superhero Day.  McCarrick arranged for three superheroes to drop by Alpine to join the special day, according to Alpine Principal Joe Leone and Chief Neil Spidaletto.

“We are so grateful to the Sparta Police Department for coordinating this visit,” Alpine Principal Joe Leone said. “It was a day that the students of Alpine Elementary School will remember for a long time.”

  • Cpl. Dave Pridham,
  • Cpl. Dan Elig,
  • Ptl. Taylor May,
  • Ptl. Jonathon Poon,
  • Det. Brian Hassloch,
  • Det. Tom Snyder,

Alpine’s Theme Day committee came up with the idea for the day because “students love to dress up as their favorite superhero or make up a superhero with special powers.”

Leone said the idea of creating Theme Days for the students to enjoy is important to Alpine staff members and they continue to incorporate fun in learning.   “We are fortunate to have a creative team of teachers,” Leone said.
