Sparta High School Track and Field Sends Four Athletes to NJSIAA Meet of Champions

COLUMBUS, NJ—The top High School Track and Field athletes in New Jersey showed up at Northern Burlington Regional High School to compete one last time locally for the season.  Sparta High School sent four athletes to this year’s competition on Saturday, June 10, senior Billy Loewen, junior Ben Davis, junior Gianna Macones, and sophomore Carlie Wilson.

LONG VALLEY, NJ – Sparta Diamonds have another successful tournament on the books for the young 2017 Spring season.  The U12 girls played in the one day Long Valley Atalese Tournament and brought home the title.

COLUMBUS, NJ – Sparta High School track and field had several representatives at the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Group 2 Meet of Champions on June 2 and 3.

SPARTA, NJ - The Sparta High School golf team took down Morris Hills last week, winning 165-185.  The teams played at Lake Mohawk Golf Club.

Sparta Girls Lacrosse Season Ends with Loss to Bernards in NJSIAA North Jersey Group 2 Semi-finals

WASHINGTON, NJ – The season has come to an end for the Sparta High School girls lacrosse team, in the semi-final round of the NJSIAA Group 2 Tournament.  Having gone further than any team in the school’s history, the girls lost to Bernards in a heartbreaking one goal game 16-15.

Sparta Girls Lacrosse Wins First NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 Title Over Ramapo, Mead Breaks Records

Sparta High School Golf: Simon Individual Champ, Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex and NJSIAA Group 2 Tournaments

SPARTA, NJ – It was a big week for Sparta High School golf.  At the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament on Tuesday, Jack Simon took first place with a 73 crowning him the tri-county Individual Champion.  Fellow team mate Jimmy Apostiolico placed second with a 74.

Sparta High School Celebrates Senior Athletes at 48th Monogram Dinner

SPARTA, NJ – Perona Farms was the site of the 48th annual Monogram Dinner celebrating the Sparta High School senior athletes.  With parents, coaches and guests looking on, each of the student athletes were announced by Athletic Director Assistant Maureen Longo, including the varsity sports they played and their plans for after graduation.

Sparta Girls Lacrosse Easily Takes Semi-Final Game from Mahwah in NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1 Group 2

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta girls lacrosse easily moved through the semi-final round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1 Group 2 when they defeated Mahwah 21-12.  The top ranked girls played at home on Reis field on Tuesday.

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School Baseball added one more to the win column defeating Morris Hills 6-1 on Wednesday.  Playing on the home field Ronan Jarvis was on the mound allowing only two hits and one run.  Jarvis struck out three and walked three.  He also scored.
