Sussex Technical Schools Mustang Football has Record Setting Season

SPARTA, NJ — It was an historic football season for the Sussex Technical School’s Fighting Mustangs. The 2018 team set a school record of 7-3.

SPARTA, NJ – The Spartans will move on in the North 1 Group 3 tournament after defeating Lakeland on Saturday 35-16.  The scrappy game saw penalties and miscues from both teams with the wind playing a factor as well.

Sparta Youth Football Hall of Fame Tournament Team Honored at Board of Education

SPARTA, NJ – The front rows of the Sparta Board of Education meeting were taken up by eighth grade boys on Monday.  The boys were part of the football team that represented Sparta at the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, OH last winter.

Sparta High School Boys Soccer Takes NJAC National Division Title over Roxbury

SUCCASUNNA, NJ – Sparta High School boys soccer beat Roxbury 2-1 on Wednesday earning the NJAC National Division title.

Sparta Girls Soccer Moves to Quarterfinals, North 1, Group 3 in Paramus Win

SPARTA, NJ – Two Spartan girls soccer teams met on the Pope John turf field on Tuesday.  The Sparta High School girls soccer team moves to the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA North 1 Group 3 tournament after defeating Paramus 4-1.

SPARTA, NJ- The Sparta High School freshmen football team have had an historic season.  Not only were they undefeated, they did not allow one point to be scored against them.

UPDATED Sparta Football Beats Morris Hills for Section Championship, Oelkers Passes Milestone

ROCKAWAY, NJ – The Sparta High School Football team finished the regular season on top.  On Saturday the Spartans defeated Morris Hills 33-18 and clinched the Super Football Conference Patriot Blue section championships.  Austin Castorina led with three touchdowns.

Castorina had 31 carries racking up 199 yards.

Sparta Girls Soccer Edge Out Parsippany Hills

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School girls soccer beat Parsippany Hills 2-1 at home at Station Park on Tuesday. 

Kate Mazzella scored both goals for Sparta.  She was assisted by Mikayla Bivona.

Sparta keeper Julia Flake had nine saves.  The Spartans took 15 shots at the Vikings goalie.

The girls record has moved to 11-3-1.  They will play at Pingry on Friday.
