SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta High School summer basketball camp Most Valuable Player was incoming ninth grade player Bailey Chapman.
The youth Most Improved Camper was fifth grade player Julia Valente.
The camp provided fun for 87 campers this year. Held the last week of June the campers, second through ninth grade were able to work with Sparta High School basketball coaches Catherine Wille, Derek Hall and Courtney Noon.
Sparta High School alumni counselors Gretchen Bowie, Erin Scott, Tatiana Esteva-Ingram, Emily Dilger, Brianna Falco and Caroline Kepler also worked with the campers along with 18 other volunteers.
The Connecticut Suns won the camp WMBA 3-on-3 tournament.
“I love this camp,” seventh grade player Brooke Geoghagen said. “I can’t wait to be a counselor for the camp in three more years.”
