SPARTA, NJ – The Spartans took down the Braves on Thursday 54-38.  Aidan Mastandrea again led Sparta with 21 points, his sixth 20+ point game this season.

Newton took the lead early.  Sparta brought it to a 36-36 tie in the third and finally pulled ahead in the last quarter when Sparta put up 18 points holding Newton to two.

Mastandrea was joined in double digits by Mike Piwko with 11 and Colby Plotts with 10.

Rasir Scott, Dean Alkovic and Luke Szabo all added to the win.

Sparta’s record moves to 9-4.  They will play at Chatham on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. start.
