“We watched a lot of film,” Bouma-Hannam said.  “It was really helpful to know how to handle their offence.”

That was just what they did.  The game started out even with Sparta up by one after the first quarter 14-13.  They found their rhythm in the second with another 14 points, holding River Dell to 3.  The second have was just as strong moving them to the win and the semis.

Bouma-Hannam said she will not be playing in college.  As they move through the post season she is “playing for everything.”  She said she knows the team is “giving it all they got too.”

“From the beginning to now, we’ve always done the best we can,” Freshman Sweeney said. “

We have our senior captain Olivia Bouma-Hannam, Coach Willi and the whole bench supporting us.”

In addition to her 20 points, McCurry had 10 rebounds.  Sweeney also had five rebounds.

Bailey Chapman, Alexa Acker, Shauna Ryan, Mason Munier, Bouma Hannam and Courtney Askin all contributed to the win on offense and defense.

The girls will play second seed Montville on the road on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
