MONTVILLE, NJ – Sparta girls basketball is going to the NJSIAA finals, having defeated Montville 62-47 on the Colts’ court on Friday night.
As they have for the past couple of games, Sparta took a quarter to warm up, falling behind, 17-8. They came charging back putting up 24 points before the half. The second half was all Sparta. They held Montville to eight points in the last two quarters.
Ally Seeney put up 23 points; three 2’s, three 3’s and eight free throws. She also had four rebounds and eight assists.
Brynn McCurry added 16, six from inside the paint and four from the foul line. She also grabbed seven rebounds and had three assists and two blocks.
Bailey Chapman scored 10- three from 3 point territory and a foul shot.
Alex Acker had nine points. Olivia Bouma-Hannam had four rebounds, two assists and a 2-pointer.
The number three seed Spartans will face top seed Ramapo on the road on Tuesday, March 10 in the final round of NJSIAA North 1, Group 3.
