SPARTA, NJ – The top ranked Sparta girls basketball team defeated Voorhees 63-46 in the tri-county tournament quarterfinals on Saturday after having two byes. Brynn McCurry put up double digits on both ends of the court with 20 points and 16 rebounds. The freshman’s season point total is 346 with 199 rebounds.
Bailey Chapman added 15 points with two from 3-point range. Ally Sweeney had 11 points and eight assists. Alexa Acker scored nine points; four in the paint and one foul shot.
Mason Munier and Shauna Ryan contributed to the win, moving the 18-3 Spartans to semifinal round. They will host fourth seed Warren Hills on Saturday, February 22 at 3:30 p.m.
The girls are ranked third in the NJSIAA North 1, Group 3 tournament. They will host 14 seed Morris Hills on Monday, March 2 at 5 p.m.
