SPARTA, NJ- It was a win and a loss this week at home for Sparta High School boys soccer.  The Spartans lost to Dover on Tuesday, 3-1 after shutting out Warren Hills 3-0 on Monday.

Sparta held their own against Dover with a 1-1 tie going into the half.  They would not be able to get past the Tiger’s keeper in the second half however. 

Nick Hornyak would net the only point for Sparta with an assist from Joe Collins.

Goalie Alban Ukaj had nine stops.

Hornyak got two and Max Rivielle earned one for Sparta in the game against Warren Hills.  Collins and Ben Rogoff had the assists.

Ukaj stopped all four Scarlet Knights’ attempts. 

The boys are now 3-7 as they prepare to play at Pope John on Thursday.
