MADISON, NJ – Sparta High School winter track team brought home some wins from their second meet last week at the Tony Passarelli Invitational at Drew University.

  • Jake Galluccio took second and Chris Johnson finished fifth in the high jump. Galluccio had a six foot jump.  Johnson went 5’10”.
  • Anthony Lombardo finished fourth in the shot put.
  • Justin Grau, a junior, finished fifth in the 55 meter dash.
  • Sophomore Jack Maraziti earned a fifth place finish in the 1000 meter run. 

The Spartans had a good showing at their first meet of the season .  The Spartans competed with 26 schools at the DeSchriver Invitational at Drew University.

With a six foot leap, senior Galluccio took a third place in the high jump.

In his first winter track competition, senior Lombardo earned a fifth place in the shot. 

Junior, Johnson’s 5’10” jump was good for a fifth place finish in the high jump.

The boys will be back at Drew on January 2.
