SPARTA, NJ – The young Sparta High School girls basketball team will be relying on the experience of their three senior captains to better their 500 record from the 2018-2019 season.
While the entire roster has not yet been set according to coach Catherine Wille, Liv Bouma-Hannam, Ellen Villapanco and Delaney Forziati will head up a team with sophomores Alexa Acker, Shauna Ryan and freshmen Ally Sweeney, Brynn McCurry, Mason Munier and Bailey Chapman.
“We are very proud of our young team,” Wille said. “While a lack of experience will be an issue, we should be solid as the season progresses.”
Looking ahead, Wille is hoping to nail down her 100 win this season.
The girls start their season at home on Friday, December 20 at 7 p.m. when they host Pope John.
