ORLANDO, FL – The Sparta High School cheerleading team had a police escort as they departed for Florida last week. They earned a trip to Disney World to compete in the National High School Cheer Championship. The Spartans squad of 23 members competed in the Super Varsity Non-Tumbling Game Day division.
The girls went up against 42 teams from across the country. According to Coach Kandace Pollison the team finished 18th.
Their journey to Disney began in October. Since then they built their record in 10 competitions with six first place finishes, two second places, a third and a fourth.
The team had a send off rally at the school where they donned their team “one dream, one team” shirts and personalized Mickey ears.
