STOCKHOLM, NJ – Sparta Jefferson United ice hockey finished in a tie on Saturday when they played Kinnelon, 2-2 on their home ice at Skylands Ice World. Both SJU goals came in the third period.

James Battaglia was first on the board for SJU on an assist from Kyle Sutton and Josh Harmel.

Sutton got the second SJU point, assisted by Battaglia and Alex Cohen.

SJU Goalie Logan Hanek had 29 saves.  Kinnelon’s goalie Brett Lewis stopped 36 SJU shots.

SJU will host Mendham on Saturday at Skylands.  This is their third tie of the season.
