SPARTA, NJ – The high school volleyball team has picked up two wins.  The Spartans beat Blair at home and Morris Knolls on the road.  In between, they had a tough loss to Kinnelon.

Sparta shut out Blair going 25-14 and 25-10 in the Spartan gym for the final regular season game.  They have a season record of 22-6 going into the NJSIAA tournament.

In the Kinnelon game on October 28 with 24 kills and 18 digs, MacKenzie Wiggins recorded her 1000 kill.  Brook Serovich had two aces and 30 assists and Liv-Bouma Hannam had 1.  The final score was 25-18 Sparta, 20-25 and 25-21 Kinnelon.

In the Morris Knolls game on October 25 Wiggins had two aces, 18 kills and 10 digs.  Serovich had an ace, 25 assists and seven digs.  Alexis Smernoff had two aces and two kills.  Bouma-Hannam had five kills.

The fourth seed Spartans will host  number 29 seed Raritan on November 5 in the first round of the NJSIAA Group 2 tournament.
