SPARTA, NJ – Under the direction of a new head coach, the Sparta High School field hockey team is preparing to take the field.  Corinne Bright has worked with the team as assistant coach for five years.

Bright will be looking to seniors Allie McGuire, Audrey Krajcek, Taylor Canfield, Lauren Groff, Kenzie Merwin, Stephanie Villar, and Ashley Nyhan to lead the team.  These four will be picking up where last year’s seniors Bella Tracy, Lucie Wolfson and Caroline Kepler left off.

Colleges are looking at Canfield for possible invitations to play at the college level in 2020.

“Looking ahead into this season we are looking to maintain a balanced pace of play and score with every opportunity we have,” Bright said. “This is a ‘new’ coaching staff year with a strong senior class that can win the conference. We are pushing to keep consistency and desire throughout each conference/division game and our tough lineup of independent games.”
